Hello!
I’m a printmaker based in Dublin, working primarily in lino relief, drypoint etching, and lithography. My work is inspired by the natural world—its rhythms, textures, and quiet storytelling. Animals, birds, landscapes, and the spirit of place are recurring themes, explored through bold marks, strong composition, and a deep emotional connection to the subject.
Although I was born and raised in South Africa, my roots run back to Ireland—Galway and Westmeath. After returning in 2022, I’ve found myself seeing the Irish landscape with new eyes. The colour and texture of even the most understated places here has reignited my creative focus. I'm currently working on a growing series of Irish wildlife and rural scenes, which explore what it means to belong to a place.
My Work
My lino prints are known for their expressive strength and intricate detail. I specialise in monochrome works, drawn by hand and carved with care. Each print begins with close observation: I draw from life, from memory, and from experience in the field. The goal is not just to reproduce an image, but to capture its energy, presence, and emotional truth.
Nature
Before moving to Ireland, I worked for many years in wildlife conservation, illustration, and even film prop-making. I’ve lived in remote parts of Africa without electricity or signal, travelled across continents by bike and on foot, and spent countless hours drawing and sketching in the wild. These experiences gave me both a respect for craftsmanship and a deep sensitivity to the natural world, which are central to my artistic practice.
I’m currently a member of the Black Church Print Studio in Dublin, where I continue to develop my practice and explore new techniques. My collectors often tell me they’re drawn to the sense of life and story in each piece—something familiar yet surprising. My works form part of the OPW and Dept. of Foreign Affairs public collections as well as national and international private collections.
If you're looking to invest in meaningful, hand-printed art that brings a piece of the natural world into your space, I invite you to explore my collections.
